Project Overview
• Design, Supply, Installation, Testing, and Commissioning: Electrical (lighting for classrooms, dormitories and labs, power for ICT rooms, solar PV, standby generator); HVAC (natural ventilation where possible, mechanical ventilation and fume cupboards for laboratories); plumbing (lab drainage, kitchen and ablution blocks, water treatment); fire protection (alarm, extinguishers, hydrants); ELV (Wi-Fi, PA system, CCTV); and Fume cupboard airflow tests, lighting-level tests and staff training on systems
Scope
MEP Engineering Consultancy and Contracting
Outcome
KEY CHALLENGES: • Construction near occupied classrooms, with limited shutdown periods. • Limited budget and need for low running costs. • Laboratories needing safe ventilation and drainage of chemicals. SOLUTIONS: • Works programmed in phases during school holidays, with temporary supplies maintained. • Solar PV and LED lighting to cut electricity bills. • Dedicated lab extract and acid-resistant drainage. OUTCOMES; • Delivered on time before the new academic term. • Energy bills reduced by an estimated 30%. • Safe, compliant laboratories handed over.
